Dillinger Piano Service

Tuning

I am available for tuning for concerts, homes, churches, schools and studios.

I tune both electronically and by ear. Despite tuning for nearly 3 decades I feel it's important to continually gain increased skills through continuing education. I have trained at Steinway and Sons in New York and continue to train and study with the Piano Technicians Guild.

Tuning, How Often?

Due to humidity fluctuations and other factors most pianos should be tuned once or twice a year to keep the piano close to standard pitch. The main thing is to tune regularly.

Other items often done during a tuning appointment:

  • Cleaning
  • Regulating
  • Voicing
  • Mechanical Repairs
  • Humidity Control
  • Cabinet and Finish Repairs
  • Appraisals
  • Rebuilding Consultation
  • Sales and Purchase Consultation
Regular tuning promotes good piano care and helps avoid serious problems.
